presidentship of Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios.
The Theme of the conference was “Orthodox Mission in a Changing World”. Bible study was conducted by Rev. Fr.
Philipose Abraham , followed
by welcome speech by Rev. Fr. Varghese
Tiju Ipe, Vicar of Ahmedabad Parish.
The
first theme presentation was made by His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios, where he
emphasised about the importance of finding the missionary spirit in the church.
He emphasised about the importance of various Spiritual Fathers of Orthodox
Church, where they have founded various
institutions which catered to the need of mission. His Grace was of the opinion that Church
doing some missionary acts alone is not enough, but must take a bold stand in
setting aside a certain amount of funds for a sustainable mission work. The second theme presentation was done by

emphasised the need of reinventing the lost missionary spirit of the
Church, by drawing the instances in
which ancient Bishops like Pathros Mar Osthathios and Yulios Mar Alvares have
made bold steps in the Church in doing missionary work. He also emphasised that
mission of the church is in dual character, the mission should be within the
Church as well as we need a mission outside the Church.
